What is Dude Theft Auto?

Dude Theft Auto is a chaotic, physics-based sandbox game characterized by an open-world city filled with absurd humor with unlimited player possibilities. Just imagine one large playground in which you rob banks, fight with strangers, or bowl with your friends-or wreaking havoc by yourself. Considering the crazy physics and various vehicular options (cars, motorcycles, or jets!), any player interaction is an opportunity for someone else's entertainment. Whether doing a mission, escaping the police, or just messing about, Dude Theft Auto is all about unadulterated fun.

Getting Started

Move: Use WASD or the arrow keys.
Jump/Climbing: Press Spacebar to clear obstacles.
Attack and/or Interaction: Use left-click to attack or interact with an object.
Aim and Shoot: Use your mouse to aim, right-click to shoot, if any.
Drive: Enter any vehicle and control it using the same movement buttons-whether they're causing havoc with traffic or not.

The game offers missions through your in-game phone each time to entertain you, but you might just want to ignore them and make your fun.

Stay on the Move: The cops never give in-stop using alleys, rooftops, fast vehicles!
Bank Heists: Have an escape route planned before entering. That fast car or motorcycle should be parked outside waiting for you.
Health Management: Watch your health during fights and loot anyone you beat, or look for health pickups around the city.
Get Creative: Use every vehicle and weapon. Some like jets and melee weapons are just laugh-out-loud funny to use.
Mini-Games: Back away from the chaos to do some bowling and taxi-driving-yielding more in-game cash.

History

Despite the apparent tract of classical sandbox games, Dude Theft Auto establishes its own existence with over-the-top physics and an irreverent attitude. It lies within an increasing trend of indie sandbox games that prefer player freedoms and humor over realism. Updates have since expanded the city, added new vehicles/weapons, and refined the mayhem, making it a cult favorite for lovers of uncurated chaos.
