Shining Opal Edition is a completely new fan-based Pokémon adventure that presents a different approach to the classic journey into which new twists have been woven. In the Rinto region, rich in colors, events would ultimately be available for a trainer to pursue on their tenth birthday after being enrolled as an amateur trainer at Goldenrod City. There's a new Pokémon Professor, new rivals to battle, and a completely new story for the game; it offers a blend between nostalgia and innovation, which includes Mikachu (a funny new spin on a familiar face) and gym battle challenges that will test your skills. Besides, you get to explore regions from past generations, giving it the makings of a tribute to long-time fans.
Travelers will begin their adventure in Goldenrod City, receiving their first Pokémon from Professor G. Oak. Then, from there, they will travel through the Rinto region, engaging in battles with trainers, conquering gyms, and discovering secrets of the story. Gameplay follows traditional Pokémon mechanics baiting builting teams to fight, catch, and evolve through turn-based battles. Be aware of new rivals and sidequests that would deepen your journey!
Shining Opal Edition is a love project by Pokémon fans, mixing up elements from some of the classic games with a new twist of their own. "Beta redux" ends right after the player's win against the Klindor City gym leader; however, the beauty of this game lies within its creativity, such as its quirky Mikachu and enormous Rinto region. While on a surface view, it appears to tie with the Pokémon spirit; on a deeper level, it offers something entirely new.
