What is Ultra Fire Red XD?

Ultra Fire Red XD is a wild, meme-filled reimagining of the classic Pokémon Kanto adventure. This fan-developed ROM hack is born out of Pokemon Clover infamy, blending nostalgia with absurd humor and unexpected twists. You play as Kanye East, a fallen Gym Leader reliving—or rather, misremembering—his glory days in a Kanto full of memes, peculiar trainer names, and overpowered Mega Evolutions. It’s another version of the original games steeped in internet culture and turned to eleven.

How to Play

Begin Your Journey: Start in a jumbled Kanto where nothing is quite as you remember.
Battle and Explore Trainers: Take on trainers assembling ridiculous teams, pull up meme references, and view classic locations through a new (and totally bonkers) lens.
Catch ‘Em All: Catch both old-school Pokémon and some weird new entries—some typical, some utterly chaotic.
Enthrall in the Madness: Try to survive the madness, but things change faster with weird over-powered foes or obscure gameplay tweaks.

Tips and Tricks

Going through the unordinary: Don’t take this game seriously, it isn’t. Half of the fun is watching for absurd references.
Efficient Grinding: Some of the battles will be tougher than your regular Fire Red, so pick and choose on levelling up your Pokemon.
Try New Team Builds: With the meme-worthy Pokémon and surprises, go with the flow of the unconventional.
Save Often: Glitches and curveballs are part of the experience.

History

Originating in the Pokemon Clover community, Ultra Fire Red XD took an already humorous and difficult hack and turned it up to eleven. It is a fan-based passion project, striving to give the Kanto region a complete overhaul with inside jokes, outlandish battles, and a narrative perhaps half sincere and half ridiculous.
