What is Joel’s Bizarre Pokeventure?

Joel’s Bizarre Pokeventure is an uproarious goofball of a Pokémon ROM hack, placing a wild and strange spin on the classical formula. Instead of going through the life of a rookie trainer, you put yourself in the perspective of Joel Vinesauce, who was kidnapped and turned into a Pokémon! Your quest: Find those friends (turned into Pokémon themselves), and get them back to human shape, while also uncovering the culprit behind this silly episode.

This game remembers not gym battles, nor actually PokéBalls. So much for tradition. With a short and fast storyline lighting up your stage (right about 2 hours of playtime), this might just be the ideal snack full of humor, craziness, and unexpected twists.

How to Play

Explore & Investigate: Roam around the distorted Pokémon world, chatting with NPCs and following the clues about your friends' whereabouts.
Don't Catch, No Gyms: Opposite to conventional Pokémon games, you will not be going to battle with gym leaders or capturing monsters. Puzzles are your meat and potatos, growing the story along.
Turn-Based Battles: Engage in turn-based battle-style Pokémon with a twist—your opponents are changed humans!
Figure Out the Mystery: As you walk through the game, piece together the story that will climax the reveal of who exactly did this to Joel.

Tips & Tricks

Talk to everybody: NPCs could give hints, or some jokes might lead you; the dialogue itself is fun!
