What Are the Orange Islands?

Orange Islands is a fan-made Pokémon adventure-type which strengthens the chronology of Ash Ketchum’s journey in the Indigo League. After Ash returns home, Professor Oak sends him on a mysterious errand involving a Poké Ball from Valencia Island since Professor Ivy cannot send that through the PC system. This game tries to layer fresh content on the basis of classic Pokémon games, with new regions, new sprites, and new mechanics, but chooses to retain the nostalgic retro feel of the originals.

How to Play

Start Your Journey: Begin your journey as Ash, with Pikachu as the starter, just as in the anime!
The Orange Archipelago: Explore new maps, battle trainers, and unravel the island’s hidden secrets.
Collect Badges: Defeat four unusual Gym Leaders to show what you are made of.
Grow a Powerful Team: Catch all 151 Gen I Pokémon, plus Tracey’s Marill from Gen II!
HMs for the Way: Dive, Whirlpool, Rock Smash, Rock Climb, and so forth, are your pals in navigating out of tricky spots.

Tips & Tricks

Early-Team Advantage: Try and find a way to acquire Ash’s other Pokémon early in the game—they will definitely give you a good start!
It All Matters: Due to the Physical/Special/Status split, moves work differently than in vanilla games, so plan carefully.
Explore Thoroughly: New tiles and sprites hide secrets-check every nook and cranny for rare items or Pokémon.

History

The Orange Islands are inspired by the Pokémon anime's Orange Islands arc, where Ash faces a new league after the Indigo Plateau. This fan game recreates the storyline with a more classic treatment, adding modern touches like the Physical/Special split for more involved battles.
