What Is Yuval Version?

Yuval Version is a fresh fan-made Pokémon adventure, breathing new life into the classic formula. Set across the vast Macva Region, the game introduces an original storyline, Mega Evolutions, Pokémon from Generations 1–7, and other intriguing features. There are five distinct zones, all featuring unique environments and Pokémon: the lush rainforests, scorching deserts, icy tundras, volcanically active mountains, and expansive oceans. The entire narrative is centered around Mega Evolution, giving weight to your journey against the evil Team Haze, as you aspire to take on the Macva Pokémon League.

How to Play

Essentially, Yuval Version follows the turn-based RPG tradition set by classic Pokémon entries:

Roaming the Macva Region in search of hidden grottos and secrets.
Fighting trainers and wild Pokémon to build your team’s level.
Catching Pokémon from Generations 1–7, including rare Shinies.
Mega Evolving your Pokémon for their strongest battle forms.
Following an original storyline that pits you against the plans of Team Haze.

The game also boasts several quality-of-life goodies, like an EXP All item and Gen V Repel System, to take the monotony out of grinding.

Starter Choice: All starters can be Shiny—soft reset if you’re hunting for one!
Exploration Matters: Hidden Grottos contain rare items and Pokémon—check every nook.
Team Balance: With five distinct regions, diversify your team to handle different biomes.

The History

Yuval Version is a ROM hack that merges the efforts of numerous fandom members. The main members of the team, notably Kakarot, PCL.G and several others, provide sprites, tilesets, music, and testing. The game mixes Gen 4 aesthetics with modern mechanics that would prove nostalgic yet new.
