What is Pokémon Saiph Edition?

Pokémon Saiph Edition is a fan-made Pokémon ROM hack in which players go on a story-packed adventure through the new Colen Region, tying together the classic Pokémon style of gameplay with an array of modern enhancements. The game is set years after the events of Pokémon Rangers: Shadows of Almia and presents the player with an engaging story involving the enigmatic Team Void, the aftermath of the Shadow Crystal’s power, and a budding Trainer caught somewhere in the middle thanks to all of it.

They did incorporate some cool mechanics, like the Fairy type, Mega Evolution, and reusable TMs, but to keep the traditional game vibe, its art style leans heavily toward Black & White. Pokémon Saiph Edition gives you nostalgic feels but with something new.

How to Play

Exploration: Travel across the Colen Region, discovering hidden areas, battling Trainers, and completing random side quests.
Battles: Use the new and improved battle system with Physical/Special split, moves, and abilities from newer Pokémon generations.
Story: Follow the main story to stop Team Void’s plans and all the mystery behind the Shadow Crystal.
Post-Game: Post the primary storyline, enter an extra section of Hoenn for more challenges.

Tips & Tricks

Repels are your friend: Like in B2W2, repels last until their time goes up; you don’t need to reapply them after every battle.
Day/Night system: Some events and Pokémon zap appearances change by the hour of the day. (If you are using VBA, turn off RTC in order to avoid the visual glitch.)
Side Quests: Do not get side-tracked—majority of the side quests reward you with cool stuff or even some useful lore.
Mega Evolution: Go and get your Mega Stones as early as possible, and use them to Mega Evolve your team in the tough battles ahead.

History

Developed by #Vytron, Saiph Edition is a story-rich expansion of the Pokémon universe, tying in with Shadows of Almia. It blends together various elements of many different generations of Pokémon while creating new regions and introducing fresh mechanics to the franchise. The B2W2-style soundtrack, coupled with UI enhancements, puts it among the best ROM hacks out there.
