What is Pokémon Green?
Pokémon Green is an old-school Game Boy RPG and the very original Japanese counterpart to Pokémon Red and Blue. Now, as one of the first games in the iconic Pokémon series, this game allows you to walk in the shoes of a young trainer destined to catch, train, and battle Pokémon. With its old-school vibe and addictive turn-based battles, Pokémon Green was really the game that laid the foundation for what is widely accepted today as one of the most loved gaming franchises.

History
The pancreatic of Pokémon Green came into existence in Japan in 1996; together with Pokémon Red, it birthed the whole Pokémon phenomenon. The game never officially entered the Western marketplace, where Red/Blue held sway; it is still an interesting piece of history, with its slight differences in sprites and encounters when compared to international releases.
