What is Super Smash Flash 2?

Super Smash Flash 2 is an homage from the fans to Nintendo’s famous Super Smash Bros. series and is developed by McLeodGaming. A free fighting game, it contains the chaotic and frantic battles of the original; hence, providing an extra twist-a cast including Nintendo characters like Mario and Link; crossover favorites like Goku (Dragon Ball) and indie-game characters. Being originally Flash-based, SSF2 acts out fast-paced battles over dynamic stages with hazards and callbacks to gaming history.

Methods of Play

Goal: Knock-away the opponent off the stage by dumping damage upon him or her. The higher the percentage, the farther the knock-away!
Controls: Directional inputs, attacks for combos/specials, or defensive maneuvers like shields or dodges.
Modes:
- 1P: Fight CPU opponents and complete challenges.
- VS: Fight with friends locally or computer-controlled opponents.
- Stages: Themed arenas such as Hyrule Castle and Green Hill Zone provide their own hazards.

Tips and Tricks

Recovery: It is important that you know your character’s recovery move (e.g., Luigi’s Super Jump Punch!), letting you avoid being KO’d offstage.
Edgeguard: Hang around the ledge and knock down opponents who are trying to recover with your attacks.
Adapt to the Stages: Some stages have moving platforms or hazards—consider how to turn them to your advantage!
Vary Your Roster: Character-wise, begin with Captain Falcon (speed) or Kirby (floaty jumps), depending on what suits you.

History

SSF2 started with the passion that gripped Super Smash Bros. community and grew out of a little Flash prototype into a mature fan project. This project, through many years of updates, extended its roster beyond Nintendo to add indie darlings and even anime characters. Flash's shut-down gave a blow to its accessibility, yet the downloadable ones keep the battles alive.

Play Unblocked

Currently, competition is no longer suitable for playing on Flash in a browser, but thanks to all this, some downloadable variants should be attainably enjoyed on download through fan sites (always check with specific community forums for safety). Since many schools or jobs tend to block game sites, the offline versions circumvent such restrictions.
