What is Neon Blue?

Neon Blue is an attraction for Pokémon fan-game set within the new Eon Town region. It offers an entirely new adventure with custom maps, events, and mechanics, while staying true to the classical Pokémon game. A young trainer is assigned to hold Team Rocket back, fight against the main rival, and collect all eight badges to take on the Elite Four. With new custom sprites, encounters with legendary Pokémon, and one-of-a-kind battle tracks, the ROM hack surely manages to add a refreshing twist to the already-familiar formula.

How to Play

The Beginning of Your Journey: After exiting your house, go right away to the lab and meet Professor Cornel, who will assign your first Pokémon.
Explore and Battle: Travel Eon Town while battling trainers for different objectives, foiling Team Rocket’s plans.
HMs, HMs Everywhere: Certain areas require an HM—keep your eyes and ears open for NPCs and signage pointing down this path!
Challenge the Elite Four: When you have beaten the eight gym leaders, the Pokémon League will open, allowing you to rumble for the title of Champion.

Tips & Tricks

NPC Chat: Professor Cornel and many other NPCs drop important hints—read their chatter!
Legendary Hunt: Gen 1–3 legendaries are scattered around the region; some require special conditions to trigger.
CK Frontier: Test your skills with randomized battles against past NPCs after beating the Elite Four.
Checking IVs: Utilize the in-gameIV display (a custom design) to help strategize on how your team will grow.

Constructed by mcferaligatr by using a multitude of downs like Advance Map and XSE, it is a fantastic ROM hack that modifies, improves, and adds custom sprites, music, and mechanics to Game Freak games. The latest version (V2.5E) brings even more of the post-game and polishing gameplay.
