What is Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee?

Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee are fan-made GBA hacks, evidently inspired by the Nintendo Switch titles Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!. Kevin PokeFan developed these ROM hacks with the intention to modernize the FireRed experience. These include having either Pikachu or Eevee as the starter, wild Pokémon roaming on the map, and a slew of new features including Mega Evolution, Galarian/Alolan forms, and brand-new events.

How to Play

Choose Your Starter – Begin your adventure with either Pikachu or Eevee by your side.
Explore the Overworld – Watch wild Pokémon roam through the map before engaging in a battle.
Unlock New Features – Mega Evolve your Pokémon, see regional forms, and tour updated maps and characters.
Finish Events – Participate in new challenges and storylines that are not present in the original FireRed.

Tips & Tricks

Bond with Your Starter – Pikachu and Eevee have unique interactions; keeping them in your party comes with special perks.
Search for Regional Forms – Keep a lookout for Alolan and Galarian Pokémon as they introduce new battle strategies.
Mega Evolution Mastery – Some Pokémon can Mega Evolve halfway through battle for an instant power-up. Try out different formations!
Save Often – Being a fan-made hack, there might be bugs popping in now and then; saving often prevents losing progress.

History

Beginning as a FireRed hack, the project from Kevin PokeFan infuses elements from the Let’s Go Switch games with old-school GBA action. It is an amalgamation between nostalgia and platforming fresh mechanics for both old-timers and new fans. Though unofficial, it does include some charm of Kanto while putting in surprises for more experienced trainers.
