What is Rijon Adventures?

Rijon Adventures is a fan-made Pokémon game that allows one to explore the bespoke Rijon region in a classical Pokémon-style adventure. Being present in Beta, the game provides a complete campaign up to the Elite Four, full with new maps, trainers, and challenges, yet all the while retaining the old-school feeling of the original Pokémon games. Be it a veteran or someone just beginning to get into the series, Rijon Adventures will give an experience that feels new yet familiar.

How to Play

Start Your Journey: After selecting your starter Pokémon, set out for the region of Rijon.
Battle Trainers & Gym Leaders: Pit your skills against other trainers and earn Gym Badges to move forward.
Complete Campaign: The Beta version currently has the main storyline through to the Elite Four.
Catch & Train Pokémon: Catch the Pokémon and train them to put up a strong fight against your opponents.

Control-wise, you'll be using arrow keys for navigation, while the action button (usually "Z" or "Enter") will be for interacting with objects or people. Battles unfold in a traditional turn-based Pokémon manner.

Tips & Tricks

Balance Your Team: Ensure your squad is adept with different types so that it can cater to whichever opponent.
Explore Thoroughly: Hidden items and rare Pokémon tend to be found somewhere off the beaten track.
Grind Smartly: Keep your training sessions limited to encounters with wild Pokémon close to a healing spot, so as to avoid needless back- tracking.
Save Often: As it's a Beta, some bugs may occur during your gameplay. Better safe than sorry!

History

Rijon Adventures is another instance in the long tradition of fan-made Pokémon games inspired by the original games but pushing the boundaries by creating new regions and narratives. Rijon itself has also appeared in other fan games, so this makes a good deep cut for the die-hard fans. The Beta release ought to mean that there could be more content coming in the future!
