How to Play

Just keep it simple: keep that ball in play; hit the targets, ramps, and bumpers to trigger events and capture Pokémon.

Launch the Ball: Use the flippers (usually assigned to buttons) to keep the ball bouncing and hitting key targets.
Capture Pokémon: Hitting targets or finishing certain combos starts an encounter. Time your hits well to "catch" the Pokémon.
Complete the Pokédex: Every Pokémon you catch goes into your Pokédex, which is great for replay as you try to catch rarer ones.
Multi-Ball and Bonuses: Unlock big scoring opportunities by triggering special events like Catch ‘Em Mode or Evolution Mode.

Tips & Tricks

Nudge Technique: A slight nudge can save the draining ball, but if you overdo it, the tilt will punish you.
Target Priority: Some Pokémon (legendaries, for example) need set sequences—put your focus on achieving those for big rewards.
Bumper Spamming: Keep hitting bumpers to gain multipliers or spawn rare Pokémon.
Keep an Eye on the Timer: Promotion modes run indefinitely, so utilize them as quickly as possible!

History

Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance, followed the success of the original Pokémon Pinball (1999). Carrying two laid-back tables, a new mechanic, and the implementation of generation-III Pokémon, the game was a bit distanced from the main series but quickly gained cult status for its sleek gameplay and ingenious variation on pinball.
