What Is Pokémon Snakewood?

Pokémon Snakewood is a one-of-a-kind fan-made ROM hack of the classic Pokémon Ruby game for Game Boy Advance. The piercing shadow that crosses the normal Pokémon formula incorporates zombies, gruesome fights, and a compelling post-apocalyptic story. For the real Pokémon lovers who want something edgier and harder, Snakewood offers a different kind of experience with new monsters, eerie setups, and plenty of strange twists in gameplay.

How to Play

Since Snakewood is a GBA ROM hack, you will need an emulator in order to play it on modern devices. These are the basic commands if you are pausing to play on a keyboard:

Pokémon Snakewood was one of the creations of Cutlerine and was released in 2010 as a Ruby ROM hack. It attained some cult status for its dark humor, unusual storyline, and hard gameplay. Its atmosphere is chock full of horror and satire, unlike Pokémon games, thus making it a clear player in the ROM hacking world.
