What is Pokémon Ruby Destiny - Life of Guardians?

Pokémon Ruby Destiny-Life of Guardians is a fan series ROM hack based on the world-famous Game Boy Advance title Pokémon Ruby. It is an adventure RPG where the Hoenn region gets reinterpreted with a story and characters of its own. As a Guardian-in-training, you venture through a world inhabited by legendary Pokémon to discover framing mysteries and fight through to become a real protector of the land.

How to Play

Movement: Use the arrow keys (left, right, up, down) to move around.
Interact/Confirm: Press Z (B) to talk to NPCs or to select an option from a menu.
Cancel/Back: Press X (A) to cancel an action or go back from one menu to the previous one.
Start Menu: Press Enter (↵) to open the start menu and from there access your inventory and game options.
Select: Hold Shift to invoke quick select functions like shortcuts.

Tips & Tricks

It's always worth exploring anywhere and everywhere; hidden areas could hide rare items or Pokémon.
If you want to outwit unpredictable trainers, make sure you have a balanced team, combining all different types.
Listen to what the NPCs say. Side quests open encounters with legendary Pokemon.
Save the game as often as possible: since it's a fan-made hack, it pretty much defies all logic. You are better off with more saves to ensure progress.

History

Originally released as a 2006 ROM hack by "destinedjagold," Life of Guardians furthered Ruby with a more shadowed plot and custom sprites. Its distinctive blending of original storyline with classic Pokémon gameplay made this a cult hit in GBA modding circles.

Play Unblocked

Many a fan game has been taken down, but Life of Guardians is still surprisingly prevalent on emulator sites. For the best experience, run it on a GBA emulator with save-state support, but please be very respectful to the creators and never distribute hacked ROMs commercially.
